Her level of nostalgia for the store is apparent in the first few paragraphs. She appears to organize the story by explaining the setting, and then the reasoning for the neighborhood children going to the store so often, and finally by tracing her normal path through the neighborhood on her way to and from the Session's store. She organizes the story first through outlining the setting and the way of life so many families in Jackson had to the reader, then by stating that she was always willing to go to the store if her mother “should, all of a sudden, need another lemon or find she was out of bread.”(156) She traces her route to the store, pausing to speak about relevant landmarks, people, and events that are on her path, and painting a view of her childhood made up of each memory, connected by the street leading to “The Little Store”. In her work, The Little Store, Eudora Welty explains the relevance of the Session's Store in her childhood and how her journeys to it influenced her daily life. ![]()
